In today’s digital world one of the most important aspects to any salon business is the salon website.
Perhaps a potential client stumbled across your website after a quick google search for salons in their area. Or maybe, they had heard about your salon in passing and decided to look you up online to learn more. Either way, your salon website is going to be their first introduction to your brand. And you know what they say about first impressions—they matter.
So, this month we want to help you make the most out of those digital “meet and greets” by offering a few simple tips and tricks for making the most of your salon website.
Tip #1: Creating the Path of Least Resistance for Your Clients.
While many of you are probably familiar with the phrase, how many of you are curious about how the “path of least resistance” could apply to your salon website? We’re here to walk you through it!
In this context, the path of least resistance refers to the route your clients have to take in order to actually schedule their appointments. While we put all of this effort into making our websites beautiful, engaging, and interactive, at the end of the day their primary purpose is to prompt clients to book appointments with us.
So, how can we make booking as painless as possible? By providing our potential clients with the path of least resistance. The good news is, this is so easy to do!
We live by the “one click” rule, which states that your clients should always be one click away from booking no matter where they are on your salon website. The easiest way to make this adjustment on your site is to add links to your online booking system and your salon’s customer service center in the header that is displayed on every webpage, from the team page to your “contact us” form.
This way your clients never have to backtrack to find the salon’s phone number or the link to your POS system. Then, after they’ve finished reading Whitney’s bio or perusing your product lines, they’re just one click away from scheduling their next appointment with you.
It’s as simple as that!
